In 2012 the Linda Kobler Memorial Meditation Garden was established with Memorial Endowment Funding. The garden provides outdoor prayer and meditation space—garden prayer paths, meditation benches, and a prayer labyrinth. It is a place to encounter God’s presence in the midst of creation. Congregation and community members are welcome in this spiritual landscape.
In much the same way that we feed those who are physically poor and hungry, the prayer garden ministry can feed those who are poor in spirit and who suffer from spiritual hunger. Simply stated, the Linda Kobler Memorial Meditation Garden provides a place where both Christians and seekers can experience the moving of God’s Spirit. The garden space with healing patterns, forms, shapes, sculptures, sounds, etc. can not only reinforce one’s faith, but be a doorway to faith and is a part of the mission of First Presbyterian Church to reach beyond the walls of the churches to offer reconciliation with each other and with the earth.
