Directly from the Dengler family:
Hi, Sam. Hope you are doing well. We are hanging in there, but want to ask for a special prayer request.
It's probably been said before, but we're asking for prayers for health care workers, locally, nationally... everywhere. I don't think people quite understand what it's really like for those who are so directly involved in the pandemic... questions, stress, isolation, not knowing what's next, constant changes... and trying to "keep the faith". It's so stressful and emotionally draining, physically scary, and it seems to go on forever.
You know Anne and Lauren are both nurses at UIHC. Each has been in some very scary situations in the past week. We are pleading for people to stay home, not only for themselves, but for others.
Thanks, Sam. Prayers and blessings.

For Anne and Lauren Dengler as they are on the front lines of medical care in this crisis, and for the entire Dengler family as they support these two. May they have peace and protection.
For all healthcare professionals, likewise on the frontlines, that they receive all they need to be safe as well as the meds and equipment They need to serve others as effectively as they want.
And for government leadership, that appreciates the riskiness of the current crisis, to prevail over those who want to ignore it.
And to bring into judgment and bring down all those who love money and power over providing compassionate leadership.
And for ordinary persons to be less foolish and self-centered so they don’t put others at risk.
And that at the end of all this, we shall be a people altogether different.

Prayers for my mother Deb, who is in the hospital after a dog bite on her dominant hand early yesterday morning after trying to help out dog Kuki when she was in pain. We spent the early night in Washington's ER and she was transferred via ambulance to Mercy IC and got there at 11:55p on 3-5. She slept well and I got a solid 45 minutes in the chair next to her.
Prayers of healing for her please and prayers of strength and calm for me.

Also prayers for the principal and staff at City High after the suicide of the young man. May God give them courage and strength to console the students and each other.

For City High, following the suicide of a young person. Please comfort the family, console friends and acquaintances, give the students and faculty encouragement, and inspire all with the hope of the resurrection. Please be also with those tempted by this young man's decision: May they choose differently and be heard by family and close friends in order to get the help.
For the marginalized people who are being hurt by state and national legislation. May God bring justice.
For Charleigh who was in church and counted herself present.
For Judy Terry's brother who continues to struggle.
Thanks for Arthur Alexander Dean Smith, new born son of WeiJing Wu and Trevor Smith, and grandson of Jeri and Greg Smith.
