Dear Family & Friends,
My wife is in the Charles Mott hospital in Ann Arbor, MI following a seizure a from a blood clot in the lung a few days ago. The oncologist advised yesterday that she discontinue all chemo/radiation treatments, and suggested we start her on Hospice care. She will remain in Ann Arbor.
As before, we sincerely appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
PS - Mary Ann is currently located a few floors up in the hospital from where Beatrice was born on Jan. 6. Beatrice seems to enjoy being with her Grandma (and vice-versa!), and gets to revisit quite often where she was born!
From Sam: Please pray for the entire Pedde family during this difficult time. Thanks!

Please pray for the General Assembly as it works to address several issues internal and external to the Church. As always, please pray for the exhibition of the realm of God as its chief outcome.
Please pray for children separated from parents wherever this happens in the world. Pray too for God's forgiveness and the repentance of those who advocate for such policies, including those who twist the Bible so it supports injustice. Finally, pray that American Christians will have their consciences awakened to the truth of our current political situation, because truth and the pursuit of goodness are inseparable from one another.

Please pray for my dad, Frank McConnell and my family. Dad has been on hospice since last July. He has congestive heart failure and recently his bouts of chest pain have increased in frequency as well as intensity. He now talks about how painful it is until the nitro and/or morphine takes effect. Pray that he may pass peacefully and without lots of pain and I have the strength to continue supporting him in these last days. He is 96 and know he has lead a long full life. On his good days, he is still knitting hats, putting puzzles together and making the staff and residents smile 🙂
Also pray for me as I have cataract/cy-pass surgery on my right eye next Wednesday, June 20th. I had the left eye done on April 4 and had the complication of excessive bleeding following the surgery. Because of my surgery it is now protocol to take patients off of all blood thinner before surgery. I had been taking a lot of ibuprofen before the first surgery and I am now off of it. Needless to say I am a bit anxious as it took me two month for full recovery when it normally takes just a few days.
Thanks for all your prayers. From past experience I know they really help.

Updates on my friends and their health issues:
Traci did end up having to have surgery to remove a mass on her stomach, but it was successful and as far as I know she’s doing better. I got a card from her on Saturday and I will always treasure it. She said she’s sending me something else soon too.
Raven is having surgery soon. They’re going to remove her pacemaker and have her wear it on the outside of her body on the left side for two months. The doctors hope that will help clear the staph infection. After the two months has passed, she’ll have a new pacemaker put in on her right side. She’s nervous for the surgeries (as anyone would be), and her doctors are cautiously optimistic that this will help her!
Please continue to keep them in your prayers. I know they both greatly appreciate everything. I’m not sure if Raven got the stuff I sent her, but I hope she did. Thanks so much for your continued support!
