My husband, Steve, is having the first of 2 surgeries tomorrow; the second is scheduled for the 28th. They will be, respectively, above his right, and left elbows: "ulnar decompression", to hopefully mitigate years of damage (numbness and loss of dexterity in his hands) caused by countless attempts at pounding out wheel bearings. Prayers for his over-worrying wife, and prayers of patience for Steve, as he deals with the healing process, will be much appreciated!

Joanne's recovery is going well and she hopes to be transferred to a skilled nursing facility in Cedar Rapids next week. My friend Charisse McKanders of Detroit, MI, known in my group of friends as Butacup, has a prayer request for you all.
Destani Smith, the sister of one of her friends, was missing Saturday and was last seen on a boat in the Detroit River. The police found her body this morning. She was only 26 years old. They’re doing an investigation to make sure no foul play was involved, but it is devastating to lose a family member, especially one so young. Please pray for the Smith and Jackson families, as well as Charisse, who is one of our most beloved friends in the group. Just goes to show you to appreciate every second of life every day, because you never know when it will be taken away from you.
