My friend Char who lives in NYC has been having a lot of health issues lately which have also compounded her grief and mental health diagnoses. On Tuesday she went into the ER after she said her leg hurt and I asked "Is it hot, heavy, painful, or bigger than usual?" and the answer to all of those was yes. She had DVT (deep vein thrombosis which is a clot). They scanned her lungs for signs of a PE (Pulmonary embolism) but didn't see any. However yesterday it "felt weird" when she was breathing but thankfully wasn't painful but I said "You need to get that checked out." So her mom took her to the ER & she did have a PE. They are aggressively treating the clots & she is at her mom's. Char is one of my best friends and I wish I could be there for her, as someone who has gone through this before, but I'm grateful that she has good healthcare. My mom always said she got through the worst of her worst because "the Presbyterians are praying" for her; Char could use your prayers as well as her healthcare team and her mom, who is a good mom but also has never had a big ailment in her 80 years of life so she doesn't understand as easily. Appreciate y'all.
